They analyzed hours of footage to choose clips of the most beautiful flickering flames and then programmed them to the Orion Traditional Electric Fireplace!
Multi-Dimensional Flames – HELIOVISION Technology gives the flames the appearance of having depth. You will have a hard time telling the flames of the Orion aren’t real. The flames look great from any angle so that you enjoy them to the fullest from anywhere in the room. The reflective backing reflects the logs to give additional depth and makes it look like the flames are coming from the middle of the included log set.
Are the flames that good? Yes! They even have spark embers that fly off the flame and burn out just like a real fire. The Orion even has a subtle smoke representation. Kick back and enjoy the Ambient Crackling and Popping sounds recorded from actual fire. This series has 4 volume settings, including off.
The Orion Traditional is the only one in its series that can be installed as an electric fireplace insert. With the Optional Surround Trim Kit (sold separately) you just insert the Orion Traditional Electric Fireplace into your existing fireplace and emplace the Optional Surround Kit around it.
The trim kit covers gaps between the electric fireplace and the edges of your existing firebox. It also gives it a finished look without having to build it into the structure. The Optional Surround Kit comes in 4” – 8” trim depending on the size of your Orion Traditional and the size trim you select. Available for the 26”, 30”, and 36” sizes only.

3 Flame Styles – Creating your preferred combination of flames starts with picking between Wood, Gas, or a Hybrid of flames. You can go with a natural or rugged look with the Wood flames or a more contemporary flame with the Gas option. The Hybrid lets you meet in the middle for a unique combo!
6 Flame Colors – Next move on to choosing the flame color to set the mood. Choose between Yellow, Orange, Blue, Green, Purple, and White.
10 Ember Colors – Pulsating light from the ember bed glows through the Black Reflective Glass to give the appearance of embers with a contemporary spin. There is an 11th setting on the Orion Traditional that rotates through the colors.
10 Down Lighting Colors – Finally, to dial in your preferred color combo, select the Down Lighting which reflects off the Western Driftwood Log Set giving the logs a unique tone. The Down Lighting also has an 11th setting which rotates through the colors.
The Flame, Ember, and Down Lighting colors all operate independently giving you 600 color combinations to choose from!
3 Flame Speeds & 5 Intensity Settings – You’ve sorted out your favorite color combos. Further customize your setup by adjusting the speed and intensity of the flames! Lower the speed and intensity on a relaxing evening with the lights down low. Bring the speed and intensity up for a lively gathering. With the Orion Series you have complete control over the realistic flames!
5,000 – 8,300 BTU’s (400-650 sq ft) – The heater is powerful! Most electric fireplaces can only produce 5,000 BTU’s of heat. The Modern Flames Orion Traditional takes it up a notch to 8,300 BTU’s. The heating capability depends on size of model and which wiring installation you choose.
5,000 BTU’s – Enough heat to take the chill off of the room. Plug or hard-wire into a 110-120 Volt dedicated 20 Amp Circuit. (Sizes 26” & 30”)
8,300 BTU’s – Can be used as supplemental heat! Plug in or hard-wire to a 220-240 Volt dedicated 20 Amp Circuit.
Built-In Thermostat – Set the thermostat to the temperature most comfortable for you so the room stays cozy! Ranges 66-88 Degrees Fahrenheit.
Go even deeper into customization with the Modern Flames App. The app is easy to use and has more features than the remote or touch panel controls. It allows you to customize all the settings we mentioned above, but it also allows you to program them to turn on at certain times!
